The development of Sovelia Core PLM system started close to 30 years ago by a small team in Finland who wanted to focus on solving companies' challenges in the Manufacturing industry. These challenges were at that time, as are today, related to the management of product data throughout the product's lifecycle and the re-use of correct product data, extending outside the engineering department.

From those times Sovelia has developed and grown to be the solution and brand it is today; one platform, but unique functionalities to fit companies' specific needs from productivity tools used in CAD design to sales configuration and complete product lifecycle management system.

Sovelia customers are located in Northern Europe, the UK, Ireland and the US, with more than 20.000 users worldwide.

The product name has Finnish origins and it comes from the word sovelias, which translates to "appropriate, suitable, fitted".

Sovelia is a solution by Symetri Europe, a leading IT technology provider that works as a trusted partner to companies across Northern Europe, the UK, Ireland and the US tailoring digital BIM, Product design and lifecycle solutions. Symetri is part of Addnode Group.

The development of Sovelia is the responsibility of the Symetri Technology Unit with the mission to secure high customer satisfaction and to ensure Symetri Technology brings outstanding customer value to all end users.
